Before the 1201n drops, there will be first the Asus 1201HA, which we’re informed will launch in Europe around mid-November for around €399  / £350.

This will be the little brother of the forth-coming 1201n, the main difference will be that the 1201HA it will not have the  ION chip for graphics.

This is good move for Asus, why? well with every netbook maker jumping on the ION bandwagon,  the machines are becoming more performant, but cost is rising up to that of similar spec’d laptops, meaning the 1201HA machine is perfect for those that want a new netbook, with the power to run all the relevant applications, but still want to pay a small price for the machine.

Don’t let the lack of an ION put you off, this mini Asus Eee PC 1201HA packs a mighty punch, check out the specs and features:

• 12.1 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display
• 1.3GHz Intel Atom Z520 CPU
• GMA 500 graphics
• 2GB of RAM,
• 250GB hard drive
